Some say that you can’t be a true petrolhead unless you’ve owned an Alfa Romeo car. This has always been kind of a problem for me because I have never owned an Alfa Romeo. Furthermore, I am not actually that interested in cars. I am much more interested in motorcycles, and when it comes to motorcycles, there is only one way to show that you are a true petrol head. That way is by customizing your own motorcycle. However, I’ve never been a fan of customizing a motorcycle. You can’t really do any better than BWM of Harley-Davidson. If you change anything mechanically about a motorcycle, most of the time, you will make things worse. If I want to have a new type of motorcycle, I go to my local dealer. I am, however, extremely lucky that my local dealer has a large assortment of different brands and types of motorcycles. Let me explain to you why this feels so special.
Being a kid in a motorcycle candy shop
When you enter my local dealer, you are immediately overwhelmed by the vast amount of motorcycles. Not only that, but you can see many types and brands of motorcycles. This is because my dealer uses a very large and respectable motorcycle importer. These motorcycle importers actually provide stock to your local dealer. Most often, these motorcycle retailers are business-to-business companies. This means that they only sell to other companies. This means that you, as a consumer, don’t have a lot to say about their motorcycle assortment. It all comes down to what your local dealer is willing to purchase. Luckily, I am close friends with my local dealer, so I can sometimes provide them with a wish list of different motorcycles. And more often than not, within a month, those motorcycles are there.
Find the right retailer
As I said, not all retailers can work with large motorcycle importers. This means that it can be challenging to have a large assortment of bikes. In that sense, I get why people customize their motorcycles. Especially if it is very difficult to get the exact motorcycle you want. Luckily, I don’t have that problem as my local dealer uses Double R Trading. These guys are Important to a large variety of motorcycles. My local dealer can therefore buy a lot of different motorcycles, and this means that I have a lot of choices. I wonder which motorcycle I will choose next.
